Saulius Bareikis

S.Bareikis is a well-known Lithuanian actor, who has performed in State Youth Theatre for more than twenty years. He has established a group „Actors’ Trio“ together with O. Ditkovskis and K. Smoriginas. S. Bareikis rarely performs alone.

In 1962 – 1969 he has learned in M. K. Čiurlionis School of Arts, in 1969 – 1973 in Vilnius 21st secondary school, during the period of 1973 – 1977 he has studied in Lithuanian State Conservatoire, in 1977 – 1981 he was an actor of Šiauliai drama theatre, since 1981 – an actor of State Youth Theatre.

S. Bareikis has created a lot of memorable roles in theatre and cinema. In 1978 – 1979 was awarded as the best male performer of the season (Tarelkin in Suchov-Kobylin‘s play „The death of Tarelkin“, Šiauliai Drama Theatre). Now S. Bareikis goes to scene mostly to sing, or, as he says, to act himself, to read some pages of his musical diary. S. Bareikis, as a performer of singing poetry, was inspired be V. Kernagis. The actor is singing what the heart whispers – openly, sensitively and heartily. That‘s not stylistics, that‘s a diary, written by musical speech.

In 2008 there was released a first album of S. Bareikis called „The Guest“. There are 11 songs in the album, which were written by the words of poets A. A. Jonynas, R. Danys, V. Mačernis, R. Stankevičius and S. Bareikis himself.
