Neda Malūnavičiūtė stands out for emotional playing, spontaneity and intimate moderation. Expanding mainstream traditions, she use her voice also as equal instrument of ensemble. Since her childhood Neda has learned of improvisation with Vladimiras Čekasinas and graduated Lithuanian Music Academy with flute studies. On jazz stage she had a debut with students jazz assemble lead by Vladimiras Čekasinas in 1988. From the beginning of her career she had performed with all Lithuanian jazz masters obviously. The most important bands where her voice and flute have sounded were the band NNB, Artūras Anusauskas quintet, „Gone with Jazz“ band, „Vilnius Jazz Quartet“, Vytautas Labutis‘ octet, Dainius Pulauskas‘ sextet, Leonidas Šinkarenko‘ „Jazz 4“. She has participated in international projects with Mikhail Finberg‘s bigband (Belarus), Daniil Kramer‘s trio (Russia), Bernd Homann‘s quartet (Germany), Kęstutis Stančiauskas and the band „Streetdancer“ (USA), Raivo Tafenau‘s band (Estonia, Finland, Lthuania) and etc. Neda has performed with various bands in USA, at famous European jazz festivals, like Imantra (1994), Tampere (1995), Pori (2000), all in Finland.
Neda has won an international vocalists‘ contest Grand Prix in Poland in 1994. She and Dainius Pulauskas‘ sextet was awarded Grand Prix in international „Yesterday Pärnu” contest. She has got Lithuanian “Bravo” award as pop music performer (1997).
