Kostas Smoriginas was born in 1953, 22 of April. He is one of the most popular Lithuanian theatre and cinema theatrical for three decades. He graduated lithuanian corservatoire (now Lithuanian music and theatre academy) together with famous director‘s Dalia Tamulevičiūtė „decade“ and worked many years in Youth theatre in Vilnius. This theatre was famous by director Eimuntas Nekrošius spectacles, in which mostly K. Smoriginas was a lead. One his role in performance „Square“ almost became a legend as it fancy even few generations of theatre lovers. Best lithuanian cinema screenwriter and director Vytautas Žalakevičius liked very much K. Smoriginas. His film „Beast outgoing from sea“, where K. Smoriginas played, won the Grand prize in Italian cinema festival.
K. Smoriginas – universal artist. He participated in both first lithuanian musical „Love and death in Verona“ directions, was a manager of Youth theatre for some years, where he directed performances „Norman victories“ and „Life together“.
He started creating songs being a student and became one of new drama songs‘ genre author. Together with colegues actors Saulius Bareikis and Olegas Ditkovskis in 1997 founded extremely popular „Actors trio“ and several years performed over all Lithuania, recorded few albums. Later, from 2000, K. Smoriginas started solo carier, published two albums – „Citizen“ and „Ladies and gentlemen“. Recently we can see Kostas Smoriginas performing together with Olegas Ditkovskis. He has some awards for actorical creation („Christopher“ for Makbet role in 2000) and in 2004 was given Lithuanian national culture premium.
From 2004 K. Smoriginas works at popular projects in Lithuania „Cave-dweller“ and „Spelaean woman“
