„Open Circle“ is an independent theatre of young and professional actors, that was established in 2006 together with a director of “Crank’s Theatre” Aidas Giniotis. In the same year “Open Circle” became a member of ASSITEJ (the International Association of Theatre for Children and Young People). “Open Circle” distinguishes for its distinctive theatre language, principles of expression, repertoire of performances and interesting searching of creation. This theatre laboratory is an alternative not only for the model of a common national theatre. It’s a particular, constructive challenge for a mainstream present condition, notion and conception of the theatre. One of the main objects of “Open Circle” is to cultivate an open, free and tolerant society, invoking an alive and knowable theatre language.
It is an experimental theatre, which calls itself “a laboratory”. It has started the shows not from performances, but from himself, voiced about experiences of self actors. The public is seated around the scene, so they can watch actors from the all sides. The audience is stupefied, because the theatre manages to be so open, it can speak in a clear and everyday youth speech about important and understanding objects.
The autobiographical improvisations “Open Circle” and musical performance – the improvisation not only for kids “A Fairy-tale of Grandmother” (by a verse of S.Nėris) were prized with Golden Stage Cross. “A Winged Matthew” of K.Binkis and a monotheatre “Pra” of .J.Tertelis were nominated for the Golden Stage Cross.
“Open Circle” is not a novice in the international singer’s-songwriter’s festival “It’s-Me”. The same as during the performances, actors open their souls singing.
