SiV.Babravičius is considered as a country music initiator and one of the bard’s culture initiators in Lithuania. He has taken a guitar into the hands at the beginning of the eighth decade and played in student parties differently from others. In 1978, when V.Babravičius was completely fallen in love with country, he has established a collegial-students ensemble “Deficits”. He was the head of it till 1983. The first Lithuanian country players has hooked “not recommended” topics and become an opposition to fusty, officially approbated stage music. This band has raised from oblivion and arranged a lot of Lithuanian folksongs, which became beloved and sung again. Later, during the period of “Sąjūdis”, the topic of creation of Simas (it’s a nickname of V.Babravičius) was the Lithuanian patriotism. In 2009, after a long break, he has started performing again. When he was asked, why he sings so rare, he paused: “Maybe I am not productive… I write a text, create a music and join into one work. I perform it myself. It’s not easy. I know a price of every vowel and sigh. That’s a music of a bard.”
